Launch of Crime Prevention Proficiency Handbook
The new Crime Prevention Proficiency Handbook was launched on 4 August at The Singapore Scout Association.
The book formed the curriculum for the Crime Prevention Proficiency Badge programme launched in 1982. The programme first started off with Singapore Scouts and later extended to three uniformed groups: Girl Guides Singapore, St. John Ambulance Brigade, Singapore and National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC).
The programme, which compromises a theory and practical test, allows students from the ages of 9 to 18 to learn about the latest crimes and their preventive measures.
